Bakery Owner
Bennetts Bakery, We are an Artisan Pie Baker in the North West in its third generation holding the secret pastry recipe passed down through the family, specializing in Artisan Pies. All our pies are produced in a traditional 5in x 1in pastry case filled using only 100% Natural Ingredients with no additives or artificial preservatives, finished using traditional & established methods. We use local Farmers to supply us with traditionally reared Beef, Lamb, Chicken and other local Producers for Fresh Vegetables and a local dairy for our Cheeses. To top it off we work alongside the local brewery Copper Dragon. Our mouth-watering pies are enjoyed throughout the North West and far beyond.
We cook our pies fresh every day. We have no microwave ovens, heat lamps, semi-finished products, no dyes, flavour-additives, emulsifiers or preservatives. Just 100% Natural Ingredients , healthy, and good for you!
11/01/22 Review (1) If Carlsberg made pies they’d be branded Bennett’s Bakery😁 Cooked at 180 for 20 mins. Initially tasted with no additional additives (sauce, seasoning etc) Filling perfect. Excellent quality ingredients and a perfect balance of meat to potato. Seasoning spot on. Only consideration with the pastry. If I was being critical, slightly sweet and reminded me of shortbread a little. Perfect for the apple pie (I’m saving that until Saturday to share with mum). When I added a bit of brown sauce and piccalilli, it toned down the sweetness and was to die for. I had it with a glass of red (obvs😁) I wonder how the sweetness of the pastry would be with a pint? It really is a cracking pie!!!! Fantastic and well done and thanks for the sample😋😋😋😋 Review from Graham Harwood, Blackburn, Lancashire.
25/03/22 Review (2) Today we've had Steve's dad over and were sampling pies again: Me (Chicken & Mushroom) , Paul (beef hotpot), Steve (Cheese & Onion) . All delicious! Paul said the pastry was really nice, not too thick. So we all loved it. Thank you! 🌹 Review from Natalie Wood, Warrington, Cheshire x
10/06/22 Review (3) I’ve tried every one, and Bennetts Bakery pies, are all pie perfection, tasty fresh ingredients, encased in great pastry, and filled to the brim, absolutely delicious, look no further. The best pies ever...you can certainly tell they're home made. The filling is flavoursome and perfectly seasoned & the pastry is light and thin. The vast range means there's something for everyone. I cannot fault Bennetts Bakery....get ordering :-) Review from David Heys, Burnley, Lancashire
16/09/22 Review (4) First off, I like pies, I’m a big fan , I was once nicknamed the “Pieman”. To me there are no bad pies, just some pies are better than others. So whilst staying near Clitheroe, we decided on a post pandemic family get together. I noticed that Bennett’s Bakery was very close by and decided to order a selection of savoury pies for a buffet.I live in Cornwall and wax lyrical about true Northern pies to the Cornish, pasties are ok, but I hanker after a proper meat and potato pie and always make it a priority when I head North. So for the said gathering a selection of pies was ordered from Steve and Ruth at short notice. Steve called to discuss the order and we agreed the pies would be ready for collection on the morning of the get together. I found the bakery easily and was met by Ruth, who ran me through the baking instructions and we waxed lyrical about pies, I knew then I had made the right call. This was confirmed when I saw the tray of pies, they looked proper and wholesome.Back at the cottage the oven was set and the pies were baked off as instructed, and served to the family. It went quiet, a sure sign of approval, the feedback for all the flavours including the non-meat varieties was unanimous they were a hit.I tried most of them, and can say categorically state, hand on heart, that they were delicious. Ruth the seasoning was spot on especially the pepper in the meat and potato pie, pitch perfect. My favourite though was the mince and onion, or was it the cheese and potato, you get the message they were ALL good.To say the pies were well received by the family is an understatement. Thanks Steve and Ruth for adding the magic to out little gathering.
